1941年1月，延安经济极度困难。山东胶东区八路军的一支运金连队出发上路，执行运送黄金的秘密任务。不料，密码被日军破译，当运金连队行至榆树村时，遭到了由大藏耕作率领的日军联队的突袭，我运金连队为保护黄金全军覆没。随队同行的女干事刘胜男临危受命，与前来营救的苟金石、张克等人组建起运金队，突围成功。保护黄金突破日军的重重封锁与围追堵截，面对敌人的圈套、酷刑，队员们宁愿舍命不舍黄金，最终完成运金任务。。1945 年 12 月，19 岁报务员鲁枫随周恩来赴重庆参与谈判密报工作，与李文峰等在红岩村遭国民党特工叶知秋盘查。此后，他们与特务斗智斗勇，执行多项秘密任务，历经波折前往香港，最终诱捕叶知秋，1950 年完成任务，鲁枫暮年与电台重逢。。In a confused welter of artistic licence, this is the classical music biopic which makes 'Song to Remember'look like a masterpiece.
